THE?North Devon and North Cornwall Short Mat Bowls Federation League’s different divisions continue to take shape.

In the Evening Fours League, the Eagles have opened up a nine point cushion at the top of the table from Wick who are a further 3.5 points ahead of Oaks.

At the bottom, Saints sit 4.5 points behind Ferrets, although they do have a game in-hand.

It’s all to play for in the three Evening Triples League divisions.

Langtree have a two point buffer at the top of Division?One from the Torrington?Whites, albeit having played a game more while Spitfires are still in with a shout on 16.

Holsworthy?Lakes are the league leaders in Division Two on 17.5 points, two ahead of Hatherleigh who are the same distance ahead of Hartland Reds and Torrington Greens. However, the Lakes have a game in-hand in their bid to stretch their lead. Woolsery?Bees are struggling on six points at the bottom, five behind the Sutcombe Skylarks.

Just half a point separates Hartland Blues and Anstey Stags at the top of Division Three and with both teams having played nine games, while it’s all to play for at the other end with just a point between the bottom three.

In the Afternoon Triples League, the Goodleigh Mazzards lead by just 1.5 points in Division One from Torrington Blues while Winkleigh Lightnings are four points adrift at the foot of the table.

In the rest of the divisions there are leads for the Winkleigh Hurricanes, South Molton Squirrels, Stratton Strollers, Shebbear Acorns, High Bickington and Brauntonians.

The Acorns look guaranteed to win Division Five with a nine point lead over Merton.

Christ?Church Angels are the only team yet to pick up a point as they sit bottom of Division Seven, while Goodleigh Pips and the Fremington Flippers have picked up just a solitary point each so far.
