TIME has stood still for several months in Launceston after power to its town centre clock was turned off — but the mayor has today confirmed it will tick again!

The historic clock, which sits on the outside of the former Barclays Bank building on Broad Street, has been stuck at 3.11am/pm for several months after the branch left the town.

However, the town can rejoice as the mayor has confirmed one of the town’s favourite timepieces will chime again.

“Well, it is correct at least twice a day,” Cllr Helen Bailey joked. “But soon we will be able to restore power to our much-loved clock and get it ticking again.”
