THE election of parish, town and district councillors is due to take place on May 2, with a number of contested seats to be voted on.

Statements of persons nominated were released by Torridge District Council on Thursday, April 4.

Electorates can now decide who they wish to represent their area at a parish, town and district level, but must register to vote before tomorrow (April 12) — postal vote deadline 5pm, April 15.

District council candidates are:

Holsworthy Ward (two seats): HUTCHINGS, Jon (Conservative); JONES, David William (Conservative); KASSAM, Valentina (Independent).

Shebbear and Langtree Ward (two seats): HURLEY, David Walter (Conservative); MATTHEWS, Rhys Arthur Neil (Conservative); STYLES-POWER, Christopher John (Liberal Democrat); TESH, Gill (Labour); WISEMAN, Richard (Independent).
