STUDENTS from Launceston College, part of Athena Learning Trust, have recently enjoyed a memorable residential trip to Boswinger YHA, taking full advantage of the sunshine, scenery, and the chance to build independence.
In the trip to West Cornwall, the students took in a range of sights and experiences in and around the area of the youth hostel, taking advantage of some good Cornish weather while creating memories to last a lifetime.
The students not only made the most of every moment but impressed everyone they met along the way. Staff at Caerhays Castle, Boswinger Youth Hostel, and nearby local shops all commented on how exceptionally polite, well-mannered, and respectful the students were during their stay.
The trip not only offered a chance for students to experience new places but also served as a powerful reminder of the life skills and confidence that can be built through learning outside the classroom.
After the trip, the principal at the college praised the students, stating that they embraced the trip with enthusiasm, kindness and curiosity, adding that the feedback from the community had been wonderful. He further described the children that took part in the trip as being a real credit to the school.
Mr Matthew Thompson, principal at Launceston College said: “We are incredibly proud of our students. They embraced every part of the trip with enthusiasm, kindness, and curiosity. The feedback from the community has been wonderful, it’s a real credit to the students and the staff who supported them.”
