HAZEL, Rowan and Cherry classes from Holsworthy CofE Primary School enjoyed a visit from Exmoor Zoo recently.
The children sat in the playing field on a beautifully sunny day and were lucky enough to be given the chance to hold and see giant African land snails, stick insects, a meerkat, millipedes and a Tenrec from Madagascar, which is similar to a hedgehog.
This was part of the pupils studies as this term they are learning about animals and their habitats.
The meerkat proved to be the children’s favourite on the day as they said it was ‘so cute’ and had ‘big eyes’.
The school’s Reception teacher Kerry Pantoll said: “Thank you Exmoor Zoo!”
