THERE is an exciting mix of events happening across Camelford, Delabole and Tintagel for locals to enjoy this Jubilee weekend.

CAMELFORD

Friday, June 3

4pm to 10pm — Music in Enfield Park, which includes a Queen Tribute Band (Good Old Fashioned Lover Boys, 8pm to 9.45pm), The Unfortunate Ones (6.15pm to 7.45pm) and Adam Cornford (5pm to 6pm).

Saturday, June 4

7pm to 10.30pm — Live screening of the Platinum Party at the Palace at Enfield Park. Bring a picnic and enjoy the music.

Sunday, June 5

1.30pm to 3pm — Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Picnic in the Park with live music from Callum Flew.

DELABOLE

Friday, June 3

10am — Community Walk from Delabole Quarry car park. Meet at 9.45am for a 10am start.

12noon — Over 60s (PL33 postcode) celebration lunch at the Methodist Church. Bookings only.

7pm — A jazz concert at St John’s Church with refreshments.

Saturday, June 4

10.30am to 12.30pm — Community planting in the wildflower area of the King George V Playing Field.

2pm — Teddy Bear’s Picnic at the King George V Playing Field. Bring a picnic where there’ll be a car boot, tabletop sale, go karts, a bouncy castle and a ‘Royal’ Treasure Hunt.

6pm to 8pm — St John’s Church hosts a children’s entertainment and disco for those aged two to ten. The theme is ‘Royalty’.

Sunday, June 5

11am — Village church service at the Methodist Church.

2pm — Jubilee Jamboree in the King George V Playing Field which includes a display of the commemorative plaque for clocktower, a collection of commemorative mugs, a ‘Royal’ Treasure Hunt (for those who missed it on Saturday), face painting/glitter painting, Hanger Management food van, and competition results. The weekend finishes with the Delabole Jubilee Donkey Derby at 3pm. Come along and have some fun.

TINTAGEL

Tintagel Social Hall Jubilee Celebrations see a Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Party from June 3 to 5 at the Mayfair Field and features, outdoor stalls and sideshows, a bouncy castle, barbecue, Living House Viking Tent, a vintage fire engine, Age Concern bus, maypole dancing, face-painting and more. The field is open from 10am.

Entertainment each day will take place in the Rainbow Marquee with a licensed bar and stage.

Friday afternoon (2pm) will see Figurehead and the Female Sea Shanty singers play before a ‘Light Show’ at 8pm.

Saturday at 2pm will see Melange (a Jazz/R&B Group) before the evening’s entertainment is 60s band, Hurdy Gurdy.

Sunday sees The Big Lunch from 12.30pm before karaoke from 8pm.

BOSCASTLE

Saturday, June 4

From 11am — There will be a Jubilee Party in the Harbour beside the river and on Valency House lawn. There will be craft stalls, fancy dress, face painting, human fruit machine, BBQ, refreshments, crockery smash, children’s entertainment, Pooh sticks (bridge to bridge race at 2pm) and more…

Sunday, June 5

From 11am — Music on the Lawn (local musicians).

12.30pm to 4.30pm — The Big Boscastle Picnic will take place on the Valency House Lawn. Tables and chairs will then be set out on Jane’s lawn for a street party picnic. Bring food and drink and join in the Big Boscastle Picnic. Light refreshments are available. People are asked to take home their waste after.
