A TOWN council has urged a ‘group of youths’ in the area to cease vandalising the town’s public toilets at Enfield Park.
Camelford Town Council has said it is ‘sad to report’ that there has been a spate of vandalism, including toilet roll holders being emptied and thrown around the toilet block, soap dispensers. being emptied and squirted everywhere and marker pens being used for the purposes of graffiti in the public amenities.
In addition to warning perpetrators that it has CCTV outside of the public toilets which have been impacted by the ‘spate’ of vandalism, the town council added that the actions of the ‘group of youths’ was needlessly costing the town council, and by extension precept payers money and resources, as the ground team are increasingly spending time getting the toilets clean for the general public to use in addition to making good any vandalism which has occurred.
A spokesperson for Camelford Town Council said: “Camelford Town Council are sad to report that there has been a spate of vandalism in the public toilets recently, with toilet roll holders being emptied and thrown around the toilet blocks, soap dispensers being emptied and squirted everywhere, marker pen being used all over the dispensers and walls, etc.
“This is resulting in the Camelford Town Council grounds team needing to spend more and more time each day getting the toilets clean and ready for the general public to use. Camelford Town Council are aware that the vandalism and graffiti is being caused by a group of youths from the area, and would please ask that they stop what they are doing as it is needlessly costing the town money and resources.
“This is also a gentle reminder that Camelford Town Council has CCTV in place outside of the public toilets.”
