THE Holsworthy Army Cadet Force is scouting for new members, and is inviting interested individuals to its open evening on May 18.

For those aged 12 and above, and are looking for an interesting, exciting and worthwhile hobby, they are encouraged to go along to the Holsworthy AFC open evening at Holsworthy Youth Centre from 7pm until 9pm today, Thursday, May 18.

There will be opportunities to sample some of the activities on offer, meet the cadets and instructors and get hands on with some of the equipment used for training.

Detachment commander 2Lt Jim Harvey said: “The AFC has some fantastic opportunities to offer young people, who are up for a challenge. The activities are interesting and fun, and it’s a great place to make new friends. There are opportunities to build confidence, develop leadership skills and even create a better CV.”

The event is open to young people from 12 years of age, and parents are welcome to come along and chat to the instructors.
