WERRINGTON will look to retain their Clive Rosevear Insurance Hawkey Cup crown this evening when they take on St Austell at Wheal Eliza (6pm).
The two sides meet on the Saints’ home ground with the North Cornwall outfit looking for a repeat of last year’s showpiece when they won by seven wickets.
St Austell never recovered from losing three wickets, only posting 101-9, before the Tron eased home with five overs to spare.
Both sides entered the competition at the last eight stage and Werrington have enjoyed two impressive victories to get through.
In the quarter-final they beat much-fancied Wadebridge having posted 179-4, before somehow pulling off a five-run success over their fellow ECB Cornwall Premier League side Callington a fortnight ago.
Cally were well placed to go through, but a late collapse saw the Tron sneak into the final.
St Austell’s route so far has seen them beat County Division One outfits Roche and Newquay, both on home soil.
Werrington make one change from Saturday’s league victory over St Just as batsman Ben Jenkin comes in for Rob Dymond.
It remains to be seen how much opening bowler Sam Hockin will be able to bowl having hurt his shoulder just one ball into the innings at the weekend.
However he has proved a more than able pinch-hitter in the two games so far, and will open the batting with former captain Ben Smeeth.
St Austell name the same side that beat Newquay in the semi-final.
WERRINGTON: Ben Smeeth, Sam Hockin, Sam Willis, Mark Gribble, Tom Lyle, Nick Lawson, Ben Jenkin, Adam Hodgson, John Moon, Dan Barnard, Mark Taskis.
ST AUSTELL: Dan Jarman, Steve Raven, Jonty Leadbeater, Alex Bone (wkt), Michael Bone, Curtis Dalby, Gary Bone (capt), Connor Cooke, Adam Snowdon, Matt Lloyd, Liam Watson.
