Bond Timber Cornwall Cricket League Division Three East round-up – Saturday, May 17

TINTAGEL remain unbeaten as Jordan Burnard’s 91 saw them to a four-wicket success at Roche Seconds on Saturday.

Vedavyas Chowdare took 3-25 from his nine overs but saw the home side rack up 256-5 thanks to a fourth-wicket partnership of 202 between skipper Tom Rowe (91) and Liam Phillips (84).

Aussie Jack Minehan made 40 but Tintagel found themselves 128-4.

But Burnard, who struck 12 fours and a six in his 99-ball knock, found fine support from Adrian Pooley (22), Jordan Blanchard (21) and Sam Abbott (35no) as the winning runs came with 11 balls to spare.

Launceston were emphatically beaten by 127 runs by visiting Saltash at Lawhitton.

The Ashes racked up 287-7 having been sent in with only Finlay Worth (3-33) making much impression for the hosts.

Opener Matt Bloomfield struck nine boundaries in his 42, but the Sharks found themselves in trouble at 86-7.

Pete West made 25 before Worth (33) added 27 for the final wicket to reach 160 and a fourth batting point.

South Petherwin’s batting let them down at Ladock.

A fine all-round bowling display led by South Petherwin captain Jacob Masters (3-33) restricted the hosts to just 197-8.

Petherwin were well set at 81-1 with James Weeks (21) and the hard-hitting Andrew Brenton (43) going well, but the introduction of spinners Vivek Oza (3-16) and Robert Bray (5-31) changed the course of the game as the visitors slipped to 138 all-out.

Callington Thirds lost by two wickets at Boconnoc having been dismissed for 211 with nobody making more than Sam Pluckrose’s 31.

Alex Mortimore (2-47) and Oscar Crichton (2-30) restricted the hosts to 102-4 before John Niblett (56) and Ian Hunter (54) all but won it.

Martin Hunn (3-47) took three quick wickets before the hosts crawled over the line.
