WERRINGTON will make the short trip to Callington on the final day of the 2026 ECB Cornwall Premier League season following the announcement of the Cornwall Cricket League fixtures on Monday night.

The Tron – four-time champions – the last of which came in 2018, are looking in good shape having re-signed Sri Lankan run-machine Thulina Dilshan for a third straight summer, while Cornwall skipper Paul Smith is also back having played for Castle Bromwich in Birmingham for the last few years.

Having finished sixth in 2025, Werrington, who haven’t lost anyone as it stands, can ill-afford to take their eye off the ball with sides all around them strengthening.

Werrington start at home to Grampound Road on Saturday, May 2, a side they beat twice last year in final-over thrillers which ultimately proved critical, before going to Redruth.

Like last season – the 10 teams in the division will play each other once before the return fixtures are played in the same order, ending on August 29.

Champions Penzance at home are third up on May 16 before they round off a challenging first month by going to St Austell and welcoming promoted Camborne.

June sees Werrington start with a long trip to Helston, as well as a home date with St Just and an away game at last year’s runners-up Wadebridge before they entertain Callington.

The seconds survived by just a point last summer and will need to be better if they are to avoid another tough season in an incredibly competitive Division Two East.

Jason Seldon’s men go to promoted Menheniot-Looe on matchday one in a game both sides will be targeting, particularly as the rest of May takes in a Lanhydrock side who should be towards the top end, last year’s winners St Blazey who were unable to go up due to a lack of junior cricket, and relegated St Austell Seconds.

They end the month with a local derby at Holsworthy, before starting June with a visit from Seldon’s old club Tintagel who were runners-up in Division Three last summer.

A trip to Wadebridge Seconds follows on June 13 before the following two Saturdays see them welcome their Callington counterparts and make the short trip up to another of last year’s strugglers in Bude.

The third team narrowly missed out on promotion from Division Four East last summer and face a tougher division with Launceston and Callington Thirds coming down and Gorran and Wadebridge Thirds arriving from the league below.

Ian Worsnip’s side start with a trip to the Clay Country to tackle St Stephen, before they host St Neot who were top of the division for long spells of last season.

The always-anticipated derby with Launceston is at Lawhitton on May 16 which is followed by dates with Tideford and Liskeard, two sides who have made some decent signings.

June starts with a home date with Newquay Seconds who have stated their ambition to go back up, while the final three games of the first half see them go to their Callington and Wadebridge counterparts either side of welcoming Gorran.

The fourths will once again combine a mix of experienced heads and promising youth players in Division Six East.

Ian Wills’ men host promoted St Neot Seconds on matchday one and end the campaign with the short trip to South Petherwin Seconds on August 29.
