LAST Monday (May 9) saw Bude Bowls Club host a Bowls England touring side who were on a week long tour of the Duchy organised by Bowls England president and St Austell native Michael Jennings.

65 people arrived into Bude on the Sunday and were split into two groups of 24 for the day with one side taking on Bude while Stratton hosted the other group. The 17 non-playing members played on Tuesday. Six rinks were played at each venue before they made their way down the A39 to take on Newquay and Redruth on the Tuesday.

All proceeds from the day went towards Jennings’ chosen charity as president; Friends of Disabled Bowlers.
