Launceston Town Council have announced that the multi story car park on Westgate Street, Launceston is closed until 2pm today (May 11) for in order to facilitate for the Mayor choosing later this afternoon.

The event, which takes place in the Town Hall, will see Helen Bailey become Mayor of Launceston, taking over the role from Cllr Leighton Penhale.

Notable people and businesses from the area will be in attendance to witness the occasion.

Despite the closure for the event, weekly permit holders at the multi-storey will still be able to use the car park.
