A NOT for profit motorcycle and scooter rental social enterprise based in Holsworthy has announced its latest venture of a new range of motorcycles.

Devon Wheels 2 Work, which is situated on Dobles Lane Industrial Estate, says the British designed and built, CCM GP450 Adventure motorcycle range is coming to its Holsworthy showroom.

The official launch of the GP450 range will be this Saturday, March 19, when the public will have the opportunity to test-ride one of the new bikes.

The CCM team will be on hand and will gladly talk to anyone in depth about the features and benefits of the bikes in the range.

There is also a chance to meet Chris Cork, Devon’s local Dakar Rally hero.

He will answer any questions about his Dakar Rally experience or will happily share hints and tips for specialist on and off-road riding.

The new Dakar-inspired GP450 Adventure range to be showcased at Devon Moto, Devon Wheels 2 Work’s showroom in Holsworthy, is an ultra-lightweight motorcycle with a dry weight of 125kg.

The GP450 design team has created a motorcycle that is easy to pick up when travelling on a remote trail alone and is guaranteed to put a smile on any rider’s face even though it does not have a colossal power output.

Lightness is nothing without balance and poise, so while the bike’s fuel capacity is a generous 20 litres, this is spread low and long across the frame via a triple tank arrangement, giving the rider the benefit of a 250-mile range.

The bike uses the acclaimed BMW 450cc four-stroke engine. It is able to deliver the capabilities of a dirt bike with the all-day comfort and handling of a sports touring machine.

The bike has been said to be perfect for the on-road, off-road conditions in Devon and Cornwall.

There are four motorcycles available in the GP450 range.

There is a lowered 790mm seat height or a standard 1375mm seat height GP450 version. The GP450S comes with extras such as heavy-duty bash guard and brush guards, front accessory frame, adjustable screen mounts, plus a style pack, including embroidered seat and a lifting strap.

The final version is the ‘Supermoto’ GP450RS, it comes with upgraded forks, style kit and a spare set of endure wheels should the rider wish to dabble in an off-road adventure.

The official launch event will take place at Devon Moto at Unit 1 Neet Way, Dobles Lane Industrial Estate.
