WITH September arriving and the sun hiding itself away, some might be sad to see the end of summer, however, for many in North Cornwall this means one thing...its nearly carnival time.

Launceston residents will now be looking ahead to its annual carnival, with this year’s even penned for Saturday, October 11.

Each year, the town is transformed into a hive of fun and games, with an array of colour dancing through the streets and plenty of activities to get involved with.

And of course, what is a carnival without royalty? Earlier this year, 2025’s carnival royalty was crowned.

For 2025, Bella Heywood will be taking on the role of carnival queen, alongside her attendants Harper Hughes and Daisy Ann Neale.

Music, food, and colour will all be on the agenda with fairground rides, face painting and of course the iconic procession on offer.

For the much-loved line up, residents are being asked to stretch their creative fingers, dust off their paint brushes and build their very best float to be paraded through the town.

What are you most excited for ahead of this year’s event?
