SOME of Launceston’s young people have been shining a light on Children’s Mental Health Week.
Pupils at St Stephen’s Community Academy in Launceston have been learning all about children’s wellbeing thanks to their SCARF PSHE lessons.
As part of the programme, pupils spent the day wearing scarves to raise awareness.
SCARF, which stands for ‘Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience, and Friendship’ has been guiding pupils through the importance of taking care of themselves and others.
Maura Furber, executive headteacher at the school said: “At St Stephens Community Academy we support our children’s wellbeing and recognise the importance of not just our physical health but our emotional development too. In school we explore what mental health is and ways to support and look after our feelings and wellbeing.”
