THE Saturday regulars at The Bridge Inn, Bridgerule, were pleased to celebrate ‘day one’ of leaving the European Union on February 1.

A ‘Happy Hour’ between midday and 1pm was sponsored by a local resident who has been campaigning for this event since 1996.

During the event an appropriate quotation of Sir Francis Drake was read out: “There must be a beginning of any great matter, but the continuing unto the end until it be thoroughly finished yields the true glory.” 

When Brexit is ‘thoroughly finished’, another happy hour is planned for January 2021.
