Residents of Wadebridge are celebrating after finding out their wait for a replacement post office is over - at least temporarily.

It has been confirmed that a temporary post office will be provisionally opening from Friday, October 20 based in Unit 3 at the rear of Hamilton House just off of the Platt in the town centre.

It is a temporary post office, set to last for six months, potentially buying time for a more permanent solution to be found.

It will be open between 9.30 am and 3pm weekdays and Saturdays from 9 am until 1pm.

Confirming the news, a spokesperson for Wadebridge Town Council said: "Wadebridge Post Office (Temporary - 6 months). "Will provisionally be opened on Friday 20th October Monday - Friday, 9:30am - 3:00pm&Saturday, 9:00am - 1:00pm Unit 3 rear of Hamilton House just off the Platt , Wadebridge".

Residents and businesses in Wadebridge welcomed the news.

Rachel Wood said it was: "great news."
