A LOCAL early years dance school is celebrating after being named best start-up of the year.
Local dance teacher Amy Eley, founder of Magical Tots, is celebrating a major milestone after being recognised with two national awards at the 2025 Club Hub Awards in Birmingham.
Amy, who runs her popular early years dance and movement classes in Holsworthy, South Molton, Crediton, Bude, Bradworthy, Okehampton, Barnstaple, and Bideford, was awarded ‘Best Start-Up of the Year’ and named nunber 11 on the ‘Club Hub Top 100 Children’s Activity Providers’ list.
Amy is particularly proud given that Magical Tots is only in its second year, an impressive feat.
“This means everything,” explained Amy. “Magical Tots was created to give local families a nurturing, joyful space where children can express themselves through movement and music. Being recognised nationally is such a proud moment—not just for me, but for all the families who come to class every week.”
Magical Tots classes use storytelling, music, props, and imaginative play to help babies, toddlers, and preschoolers build confidence, coordination, and creativity. But it’s more than just dance, Amy says that her sessions are carefully designed to support emotional wellbeing, communication, and social development in a fun, inclusive environment.
Amy says that inclusivity is a core part of Magical Tots and something she feels very passionate about.
“Dance should be for every child,” Amy explains. “Whether they’re bouncing with energy or taking it all in from a parent’s lap, every child has something beautiful to bring to the space. It’s about connection, not perfection.”
The Club Hub Awards are the only UK-wide awards for children’s activity providers judged solely on business merit rather than public votes.
Finalists were selected from over 340 applications nationwide, with Magical Tots securing number 11 in the Top 100.
