LEOPALLOOZA brings international chart-topping star Kelis to the rolling green hills of North Cornwall on Saturday, July 28.

Proudly hosting the US music sensation, Kelis will be joined at The Wyldes site near Bude by a string of established musicians, up-and coming artists and side-splitting comedians.

Billing itself as ‘The Greatest House Party… in a field’, Leopallooza will pop up on Friday, July 27 to Sunday, July 29 for three days of music, comedy, theatre, street food, beer and cider. Incorporating a host of new happenings for 2018 including an extended comedy programme, wild storytelling and the introduction of a tiny nightclub, Leopallooza XII is gearing up to be the best yet.

With years of chart dominating songs under her belt, American singer-songwriter Kelis Rogers, better known as simply Kelis, will bring the biggest party of the summer to Bude as she headlines the main stage on the Saturday.

Born and raised in Harlem, New York, Kelis shot to fame in 2003 with hit single ‘Milkshake’ from her third studio album ‘Tasty’. Having released six albums, won Brit, Q, and NME Awards, and nominated for two Grammy Awards, the US music sensation has toured every corner of the world performing tracks that include ‘Trick Me’ and ‘Millionaire’.

First catching the public attention with ODB’s hit ‘Got Your Money’ and having collaborated with the likes of Pharrell, Busta Rhymes, Calvin Harris and Andre 3000, the quirky R&B diva will undoubtedly share a slice of her new album ‘Food’ with Leopallooza partygoers.

Event co-founder, Sam Dunnett said: “Kelis is definitely up there with the biggest names we’ve hosted here at Leopallooza. She has millions and millions of fans worldwide, and we’re really excited to have this US superstar come to Cornwall and get the Saturday night festival crowd singing along with some of those big hits that I think we all know. Yeah, we’re buzzing… We can’t wait.”

Brimming with energy and joining Kelis at Leopallooza this summer, Alabama’s six-piece soul band St. Paul and the Broken Bones will headline festival proceedings on Sunday, July 29. Other acts taking centre stage include Chelmsford’s Jordan Cardy AKA Rat Boy, Bedford born singer-songwriter Tom Grennan, Bristol formed Idles, The Go! Team and Oh My God! It’s The Church.

New additions to leopallooza xii…

The Funny Side — a new area with a strict focus. Gags and giggles. Russell Kane and Josh Widdicombe are set to headline this year’s event as Leopallooza XII dramatically expands its comedy offering. More acts to be announced soon.

New for 2018, Rogue Theatre and its band of rogues, bandits, beasts, wolves, witches and wide-eyed wanderers will transform the woodland of Leopallooza into Rogue Wood, a wild outdoor theatre experience that will host three days of immersive storytelling. Performing ‘Wicked Tales from The Wild’, a collection of Rogue Theatre’s favourite dark and funny stories, the visual adventure welcomes audiences of all ages. Prepare to enter a world of magic and mystery.

This year, Leopallooza also offers the all-new Shi Shi Za Karaoke Bar — a twist on Japanese karaoke that gives partygoers the chance to exercise the vocal chords and unleash the inner diva; Dinkies — Leopallooza’s tiny nightclub that holds just a handful of dancers; and The Quiet Riot — giving festival guests the chance to control the dancefloor, DJs will battle it out through glowing wireless headphones for an ‘everyone’s’ style, high-energy dance party.

Returning favourites…

The MONO Stage, the southwest’s greatest pop-up alternative music venue, returns to Leopallooza XII, bringing with it its own brand of backstreet rock and roll alongside cutting edge new music.

House of electronic arts and dance, The Treeline returns to the festival grounds as does The Hong Kong Ping Pong Club, delivering thick beats, heavy bass, plenty of bounce and a whole lot of boom.

Hungry festival guests are also encouraged to take a stroll through Palloozaville — the onsite feast area serving delicious street food throughout the weekend.
