PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works. Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities. Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Cornwall Council in North Cornwall and Torridge District Council in Torridge.

Harbour commissioner elections

A PUBLIC notice has confirmed that the election for a new harbour commissioner in Padstow (St Minver) will no longer go ahead.

In a public notice, the harbour master, Bryn Phillips confirmed the identity of the newly appointed harbour commissioner.

He stated: “Due to the notification of the withdrawal of candidate Mr A Cameron from the Padstow Harbour Commissioners St Minver election, there will no longer be an election.

“Therefore nominee candidate Mr M Marshall automatically fills the vacant seat and will serve for the unexpired term of resigned Commissioners Ms B Hewitt, until March 31, 2028.”

Gas mains replacement works

THERE will be a lengthy road closure on a road in Bude in order to enable the replacement of a gas mains to properties.

Poughill Road will be closed between the junctions with Ocean View Road and Creathorne Road between February 2 and March 6. However, an alternative route will be signposted and access to properties for pedestrians and vehicles will be maintained.

Road closures

BUDE: Access to the houses to the rear of Summerleaze Crescent will be the subject to a road closure between February 16 and February 20 in order to undertake new water connection works.

The prohibition will be in force for 24 hours a day, weekends included on the days listed.

LAUNCESTON: St Stephens Hill in Launceston will be closed between February 16 to February 20 in order to allow cabling works to be undertaken.

The prohibition will be in force between 9.30am and 4pm, weekdays only. The road affected is St Stephens Hill between the junctions with Roydon Road and Dutson Road. An alternative route will be signed and pedestrian access to the properties in the closure area will be maintained.
