LLOYDS Banking Group has announced the closure of its Holsworthy branch.

This is part of the group’s plans to close 44 branches across England and Wales, 29 Lloyds Bank branches and 15 Halifax branches.

However, a spokesperson confirmed that a new mobile branch will visit the Holsworthy area. The new service will be in place prior to the branch closing date of October 12, to help customers become familiar with the service.

They said personal customers will be able to use the new mobile branches for many of their everyday banking needs such as making deposits, withdrawing cash and paying bills. As well as helping customers use online banking and make general account or product enquiries. Business customers will also have access to basic banking services.

The mobile branch will have full disabled access, including a disabled lift allowing wheelchair access and a hearing loop.

Full details of the mobile branch service will be confirmed in the near future, and will be available in advance of the new service starting and opening hours will depend on demand in the area.

According to the Lloyd Banking Group’s research 73% of personal customers in Holsworthy already use other branches and other ways to bank such as online and telephone banking and 48% of personal customers already use other branches, such as Launceston branch.

The team will be informing customers of the services on offer at the local Post Office in Holsworthy as personal and business banking customers can withdraw money or check their balance, as well as pay in cheques and money to their account at any Post Office branch.

Customers will have their accounts realigned to Launceston branch, which will not change the way their accounts are managed. They can use any branch for their banking needs, as well as using the other banking options available to them. The nearest alternative branch is Launceston.
