HOLSWORTHY'S new Portreeve for the next three years has been revealed.

Philip Cole, born and bred in the town, has been selected by the Venerable College of Past Portreeves.

He is a longstanding member of Holsworthy Lions and a keen euchre player. Philip has run a successful butchers in the town and been a member of the Ancient Court Leet of Holsworthy for some 25 years.

Current Portreeve and Portrevene of Holsworthy Russell and Gloria Dymond, accompanied by Town Crier Roger Dunstan, congratulated the Portreeve elect Philip and his wife Ann at a recent meeting. He takes over the position on July 10.

The Portreeve has wished them every success in their new roles and hopes their three years of office will be as enjoyable for them as have been his.
