THE portion of the council tax which is levied by a parish council is set to remain the same for the tenth year in a row.

It comes amid concerns about the cost of living.

A spokesperson for the Holsworthy Hamlets Parish Council said: “The parish council’s budget for the 2026-2027 financial year was agreed and the level of the precept demand on Torridge District Council was set.

“For the tenth successive year the parish precept was kept at the same level, which means that there will again be no increase in the parish council’s component of its parishioners’ council tax bills next year.

“The continued increases in the cost of living, rises in fuel bills and the level of inflation that parishioners are facing, all influenced this decision.”
