Holsworthy Community College and Holsworthy Police are the first in Devon and Cornwall to join together as part of the Safer School Partnership (SSP).

Sgt Pennie Channing of Holsworthy Police Station said: "The SSP were initially set up in areas where crime and disorder were identified as a real problem within a school and generally a PCSO was dedicated to the school full time to work on improving these issues. At Holsworthy we clearly do not have a problem requiring that level of intervention, but we wanted to formalise the excellent working relationship we have built up over the last seven years."

The overall aim of this scheme is, therefore, to ensure that the young people, staff, parents and visitors to the school have a safe environment in which to study, work and visit, and where young people can develop to their full potential.
