The volunteer run group have just enjoyed their first green fingered birthday together at The Gateway Centre in Launceston.

Across the past 12 months, the group have used their dedication and skill to transform the front and sides of the centre with vegetables and plants appearing in the raised beds and along the path that leads to Madford Lane.

Set up in June 2021 after COVID, one of the volunteers, Sheila Cook said: “The club helped to bring people out after being isolated and gave them confidence in getting back to work.”

The club meet weekly and enjoy developing individual and team-based skills amongst themselves.

Anyone interested in helping the gardening club can come and visit the team who meet on Tuesday mornings 10am to 1pm at The Gateway Centre, Madford Lane, Launceston, PL15 9TR.
