A HATHERLEIGH Care Home resident who has recently celebrated her 100th birthday said her youthful outlook and the odd tipple of whisky has been the reason for her long and happy life. Freda Ford, who was born in Dorset, spent many years in the countryside before moving to Bristol.

Bubbly Freda, who says she only feels 55, was married at 19 before having her only daughter. She then worked as a housewife and looked after her family and their home.
