TWO comedians are set to bring their own stand-up shows to Launceston Town Hall later this year.

One quarter of the ground-breaking Not The Nine O’Clock News, Griff Rhys Jones, will be in Launceston on Saturday, November 22 to share funny observations and comic stories.

Griff is back on the road with the second tour of his much-anticipated brand-new stand-up show, following a hugely successful run last year.

The show always varies as Griff rambles on the developing national permacrisis. He will take questions from the audience and lets rip as his associations wander.

Away from the stage, Griff is best known for his countless TV appearances, including as the star of ten series of Smith & Jones, whilst his multiple documentary series have been critically acclaimed ratings hits.

His stand-up show, The Cat’s Pyjamas, follows Griff’s last hugely successful international tour, All Over The Place, which saw him play to capacity crowds across the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, December 4, a star of the hit comedy sports quiz They Think It’s All Over will be coming the town hall.

Comedian Lee Hurst has had a varied life, a former cleaner, a van driver and labourer. He became a comedian, did TV warm up work and then ended up on TV himself on numerous shows.

He then walked away from it all to open his own Backyard Comedy Club in Bethnal Green in London’s East End.

Lee, who is now touring again with his new stand-up show No Particular Order, is hosting a night where the audience is invited to choose the running order of the show by picking cards displayed on the stage.

But bear in mind, some of the cards are not what they appear to be…
