A MEMBER of staff from Ambrosia Creamery in Lifton will be taking to the turbo trainer in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Gary Vernon from Holsworthy will be riding 115 miles on the turbo trainer at a charity fundraiser this Saturday (August 8) at Waitrose, Holsworthy.

Gary is undertaking the challenge in preparation for the Premier Tour de Yorkshire Challenge. He is joining colleagues for the 115-mile cycle challenge which follows the route of 2014 Tour de France.

To raise sponsorship for the event, Gary will be holding a fundraising day from 9am until 5pm at Waitrose. There will be a raffle at 5pm and ‘guess the rice grains’ competition.

Gary said: “I will be riding the 115 miles on my bike. There will be a raffle, for which we have some great prizes and a guess the rice grains competition. Please come along and cheer me on, it’s going to be a long day in the saddle!”
