FELTS, fibres and fleeces of all kinds attracted visitors from far and wide to Holsworthy Agri-business Centre at the weekend.

A Proper Woolly event was held for the first time, boasting some 90 stalls, demonstrations, food and drink in aid of charities North Devon Hospice's Longhouse Appeal and the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institute (RABI).

James Morrish, marketing coordinator and auctioneer at Kivells, said they were 'very pleased' and there were 'no problems at all'.

"It was a good event. It is new ground for us as it is the first time we have worked with Proper Woolly and it was a real success.

"There were lots of purchases and visitors from all over world, including Australia and America. We saw the market in a different light and it shows it can be used for all sorts of things. There was plenty of business, not just on site, but in the community and in the town."
