CRICKET is the big focus in this week’s Cornish and Devon Post Series following a mad several days of action across the county.

There’s a report and reaction from Werrington’s thrilling WT Edwards Cup final at Truro against St Just which the Ladycross outfit were narrowly edged out in as well as a report from the league encounter between the two sides in West Cornwall on Saturday.

There’s the usual round-up and tables from Saturday’s action in the Cornwall Cricket League including a record-breaking day for Launceston captain Darren Jenkin’s unbeaten 290 against Bugle.

Sunday saw two finals days with reports and reaction from both.

St Minver won the Rosevear Cup at Lanhydrock after beating the hosts’ seconds’ team, there’s report and reaction from skipper Jonny Centini, while there’s similar from the Isaac Foot Cup Finals Day at Callington where the home side’s third team beat Werrington Thirds and then Yelverton to win the title.

Away from the cricket, there’s football news as Holsworthy bring in a new striker, the latest pre-season results from the South West Peninsula League teams as well as the latest from Upper Tamar Lake Sailing Club and the local bowls results from Dunheved, Kensey Vale and Stratton.
