RACE three of the 2026/27 Cornish Multi-Terrain Race Series – The Bude Pirate Run – took place on Sunday, September 20 to great success.

Over 200 runners completed the near eight-mile course which starts and finishes on Maer Down and takes in outstanding trails, coastal scenery and plenty of hills.

​Truro Running Club’s Steve Reynolds was the winner once again in a time of 53 minutes and two seconds, just over four minutes clear of Liam O’Neill from Hayle Runners (57:05) who took third from Reynolds’ club-mate Alex Marples (58:08).

With the in-form Emma Paull absent, Rebecca Ezra-Ham from Saltash-based Tamar Trotters comfortably took victory in 59:49, more than 90 seconds ahead of Winchester and District AC’s Jo Meek (1:01:02). Cornwall AC’s Chloe Clarke was third in 1:06:29, ahead of home runner Chloe Constantine.

Truro took top honours in the ladies’ race with a four-person team score of 50 with Bude (80) and Perran Trail Runners (156) second and third respectively.

Despite Truro (62) having three of the top seven finishers, they were pushed back into second by Hayle (45) in the men’s team race, while St Austell (77) took third ahead of Bude RATs (91) who saw 19 members finish out of 215, the most of any club.
