THE 2024/25 Holsworthy and District Pool League came to a finish last month.

Being one of the biggest pool leagues in Devon with 28 teams and still playing old rules, the finals night, which was spread across four venues, was very well supported indeed.

The three divisions were all decided on the final week of the season.

Magpie RBL A won the Division One title despite a comeback from Hols Social A who beat Magpie RBL A in the last game of the season, and nearly forced a play-off to decide the champions.

For much of the season, seven teams had the chance to secure the Division Two crown and by the final night, four were still in contention.

Eastcott A were top but could only win 3-2 against Old Market Inn B, and with second-placed Old Market Inn A beating Orchard Mayhems 4-1, they took the title on matches won.

It was a very close battle in Division Three.

Union Inn took the title with a 4-1 success over Bridge Bios, while the runners-up spot went to Golden Fleece B who won 3-2 against Eastcott C, only for third-placed Clovelly Inn A to slip up in a 3-2 defeat to Eastcott B.

League organisers Des Jose and Colin Davies would like to thank everybody who supports this league and makes it such a success, and with more teams asking to join for next season, the future is looking good.
