NORTH Petherwin claimed their second Launceston Cup title as they overcame a stubborn Kilkhampton 2-0 in the final at Pennygillam this evening.
Both sides had chances in the first half with Ben Sharpe twice hitting the woodwork for the Badgers, while Tom Coles had to be at his best on a couple of occasions.
Just as it looked like the tie was heading to penalties, Darren Samways’ sublime ball saw Sharpe get to the ball first before Leam Powell and scored from the edge of the box via a touch off a covering defender, before Samways confirmed the win with a 40-yard finish into an open goal after Powell’s scuffed free-kick.
