ST MINVER took a step nearer the Premier title with a comprehensive 5-0 defeat of Saltash United.

Ryan Pooley gave them a second-minute lead and Rob Green added a second after 15 with a powerful shot. Green scored his second on the stroke of half-time.

Corey Cleave netted St Minver’s fourth from the spot and a quality lob from Pooley in the 50th minute completed the rout.

Looe Town keep up the chase after a 3-1 win at North Petherwin. Tom Whitebrook, Jed Whitebrook and Kieran Faulkner scored for Looe, while Joe Reeve scored for the hosts.

Callington Town went back to the top of Division One after beating St Dennis 2-1 in a feisty affair.

A brace from Ricky Cotton overturned the Chris Brown opener.

LC Phoenix keep their promotion aspirations alive after beating Gerrans and St Mawes 3-0 on a very wet and windy afternoon. Josh Barron opened the scoring after two minutes after Mike Steele slipped him through to dink over the advancing ‘keeper.

Steele was again provider for the second as his pin-point cross after cutting back from wide left was met by Darren Webber to head home.

As the game neared it’s climax and Gerrans pushed for a way back in, Phoenix countered, with Steele spreading the ball wide for Barron to fire home his second, and the alumni team’s third, before the final whistle blew.

It was a good day for Gunnislake who comfortably beat Altarnun 4-0.

In Division Two, Veryan were pushed hard at St Breward. With the game seeming destined for a stalemate, Veryan were awarded a penalty in the third minute of stoppage time which Bobby Lee-Jones dispatched.

Elsewhere, Lifton climbed away from relegation with a 7-2 victory over Queen Rangers.

Delabole keep their promotion dreams alive as they beat Packhorse Athletic 2-0 in Division Four.
