WITH the weather being more like April than February over the last few days, a near full compliment of fixtures across the Duchy and parts of North Devon and the Exeter League are likely to go ahead.

All three of the Post area’s South West Peninsula League Premier Division outfits are on the road.

Camelford who have played the majority of their fixtures already, make the long trip to Cullompton Rangers looking for a first league win in 12.

Second-bottom Launceston, who have suffered several heavy defeats in recent weeks, including a 6-1 reversal at Saltash United in the Walter C Parson Funeral Directors League Cup on Wednesday night, make the trip to lower mid-table Ivybridge Town. Improving Callington Town will be put to the test at title-chasing Exmouth Town who eased past a young Plymouth Argyle Reserves side 4-0 last weekend.

In Division One (West), Bude Town are back at Broadclose Park for the first time since their 14-0 win over Ludgvan on January 26, with Plymstock United the visitors.

However the Seasiders will need to be at their best and show an improvement from their 7-1 thrashing at Wadebridge Town last weekend.

Bude’s local rivals Holsworthy have had to put up with three weeks without a game by the time they travel to St Blazey tomorrow.

Liam Dart’s Magpies have enjoyed a good season so far to sit eighth — and with games in-hand on the rest — will be confident of pushing into the top six in their final 11 outings.

In the East Cornwall League Premier, Launceston Reserves have a home date with second-bottom Wadebridge Town while the team propping up the division, Looe Town head to Callington Town Reserves, who enjoyed a superb 4-2 win at St Stephens Borough last Saturday.

In Division One, leaders Morwenstow know they need to keep the pressure on the chasing pack when Newquay Reserves make the long trip up the Atlantic Highway.

Although the Greens are four points clear of second-placed St Minver who have a derby date at Padstow United, Minver have two games in-hand.

At the bottom, St Teath make the trip to Lanreath hoping to pick up their second win of the season.

Boscastle and North Petherwin are both on their travels in the JJ Jones and Sons Duchy League Premier.

Boscastle make the long jaunt to Gerrans and St Mawes United while the eighth-placed Badgers go to mid-table Sticker Reserves.

North Hill will look for instant revenge when they welcome St Merryn. The home side have yet to win all season but will at least know what to expect against opponents who beat them 7-2 last Saturday.

At the top, Stoke Climsland are looking for back-to-back promotions and they go to Queens Rangers.

Stoke’s near neighbours Gunnislake are also on the road at Holywell and Cubert while St Breward make the trip to the Devon and Cornwall border to tackle St Dominic.

Tintagel could move to within two points of second-placed Lamerton Community with four games in-hand, when the sides clash on the North Cornwall coast. Lifton go to Barcelona Cross to take on Pelynt in the other Division Two match scheduled.

With Southgate not in action in the the fourth-tier of the Duchy League, the focus switches to Bude Town Reserves’ title charge.

The leaders make the short trip — by their standards — to their Boscastle counterparts who themselves are enjoying a good run of form to sit in mid-table.

Delabole United have also improved significantly in recent weeks and they make the trip to Week St Mary, who will look to bounce back from a 4-2 defeat at St Ann’s Chapel last time out.

Basement side North Petherwin Reserves will be confident of moving to within a place of third bottom St Mawgan Reserves when the two sides clash in North Cornwall.

Ten Post area clubs are scheduled to continue their North Devon League campaigns this weekend.

Bradworthy go to the coast to face Braunton in the Premier, while Shebbear United are also away from home at Fremington in the league below.

In Intermediate One, Holsworthy Reserves have an incredibly difficult task at Bideford Community AFC Reserves who are unbeaten all season in the league, while high-flying Kilkhampton will look to bounce back from their 9-4 reversal at the hands of Bideford when they welcome Putford to Lamb Park.

Bridgerule should bounce back from their Devon Intermediate Cup quarter-final heartbreak against Buckfastleigh Rangers by winning at High Bickington who are yet to register a point this term.

Bridgerule Reserves are at home to Torridgeside Reserves in Intermediate Two, while Morwenstow Reserves make the short trip up the A39 to take on their Hartland Clovelly counterparts.

All three Post area clubs in the league below have tough tasks.

Ashwater make the long trek to Exmoor to tackle second-placed Lynton while the only side above them, Kingsley Wizards are the visitors to Shebbear United Reserves.

Bradworthy Reserves have a date with another in-form team in Combe Martin Reserves.

In the Exeter and Devon League, Halwill’s clash with Thorverton is postponed while the seconds, fresh off reaching the Bill Slee Cup quarter-finals last weekend, will continue their promotion quest at struggling Pinhoe.
