SOUTH WEST PENINSULA LEAGUE PREMIER WEST
Sticker 0 Bude Town 1
A LATE winner from young substitute Aaron Hart gave Bude Town a narrow 1-0 victory at Sticker on Saturday.
The Seasiders welcomed back Jamie Gorst and Finn Reeve to the side at full-back with Ericson Okonkwo and Harry Hopcroft, who were both unavailable, dropping out of the starting 11.
The first half was a turgid affair with defences on top.
Bude keeper Ty Rowe had to be alert to keep the ball out with his feet, while down the other end, some smart wing play from Harrison Swatton saw him cut the ball back to Baga Mariko whose strike from 10 yards was expertly kept out by Harry Ashton.
The Seasiders were much better in the second half.
Sensing that there were points for the taking, the ball was being shifted forward into better areas and striker Tornado Bello looked dangerous on the shoulder of the defenders.
Both sides saw yellow cards as both sides knew the importance of the first goal, then came the moment of magic in the 83rd minute.
Winger Harrison Swatton picked the ball on the left just inside his own half before playing a superb 40-yard ball inside the left-back, allowing 17-year-old Aaron Hart to run on to the chance, wait for Ashton to commit himself and then send a composed finish into the bottom left corner.
Bude then held out relatively comfortably to move up to ninth in the table.
The Seasiders are next in league action on Saturday when they head to third-placed Penzance (3pm).
