Sticker 1

HARRY Wilshaw’s hat-trick helped Camelford pick up their first away win of the season at Sticker.

After seven games without a win in the league, the Camels were in desperate need of a pick me up and found it at Burngullow Park as they put the basement side to the sword.

The rest of the Camels’ goals came from Adam Sleep (2), Josh Insley and Andy Boxall.

Newquay 3

THERE was late drama at Trefrew Park as Newquay won a five-goal thriller.

The Camels continued where they had left off from Tuesday night’s 7-1 victory at Sticker, playing some excellent football.

However they failed to take their chances and were made to pay when a shot rebounded off a defender and found its way in.

The Camels were level almost straight away as Mark Gusterson deflected in Josh Insley’s shot before top-scorer Adam Sleep headed in to give them a 2-1 lead at half-time.

However the Peppermints continued to battle away and were rewarded as skipper Jack Bray-Evans slammed in a loose ball before crashing in the winner from close range in the dying seconds.

Godolphin Atlantic 1

Callington Town 3

THREE second-half goals paved the way for struggling Callington to pick up an impressive victory at Godolphin Atlantic.

The impressive Ricky Coton was the home side’s chief tormentor scoring twice to go alongside a further effort from Tom Burgess.

The home side pulled one back late on but it was the visitors who left Newquay with all three points to bounce back from their 7-0 defeat at home to Plymouth Argyle Reserves.

Torpoint Athletic 7

Launceston 0

LAUNCESTON had the misfortune to run into an impressive, relentless Torpoint side who hit them early, hard and often during their 7-0 defeat at The Mill.

On a blustery, sunny afternoon the Clarets started slowly and were behind after just seven minutes when former Pennygillam man Scott Blatchford wriggled into the box and poked his shot past Josh Colwill.

Ruben Kane hit the post in a rare Launceston counter-attack but it was mostly one-way traffic and after 33 minutes the home side deservedly doubled their lead, once again through the lively Blatchford.

Within minutes things went from bad to worse for the Clarets. Defender Joe Smith was forced off through illness and, as the side attempted to reorganise at the back, Elliot Crawford claimed the final touch as the home team took advantage of a goalmouth scramble to make it 3-0 and effectively seal the points.

The second-half was tough going for the Launceston side which struggled to achieve any meaningful possession on a surprisingly lively surface.

Impressive striker Luke Cloke made it 4-0 after 55 minutes before Blatchford completed his hat-trick on the hour. Cloke then scored twice more in the dying stages to claim his own treble.

Division One (West)

Holsworthy 1

Wadebridge Town 3

IT’S now back-to-back defeats for the Magpies as league leaders Wadebridge Town left Upcott Field with all three points on Saturday.

Holsworthy were made to pay for a slow start as Sam Gerken fired the Bridgers into the lead inside a minute.

Dan Jennings doubled the lead before the break, which meant that Liam Dart’s side had a mountain to climb.

However they halved the deficit when Lee Gardiner scored before failing to take a number of opportunities.

Skipper Carlo Chandler was then sent-off for a late tackle before Kyle Flew went up the other end to seal the points.

Ludgvan 0

Bude Town 5

NATHAN Bonney’s hat-trick helped Bude Town picked up their first win of the season with a fine away performance at last season’s runners-up Ludgvan.

The game started at a pedestrian pace with both sides struggling for quality.

Bonney broke the deadlock in the 18th minute with a low drive which the keeper really should have done better with.

The first-half saw Bude squander several good chances to double their lead and had to settle for a slender half-time advantage.

Bude really improved their performance after the break and their slick passing was rewarded with an excellent team goal which saw Bonney latch onto a clever Tommy Statton through ball to round the keeper and make it 2-0 in the 50th minute.

The third followed soon after when another beautifully weighted Statton throughball was expertly finished by full-back Dave Hales, who lobbed the keeper from 12 yards.

Bude continued to pile the pressure on and in the 65th minute Harry Hopcroft volleyed home the fourth goal at the back post to seal the three points.

There was just time in the 80th minute for Bonney to complete his hat-trick. He added the fifth after some good interplay in midfield saw Statton square unselfishly for the Seasiders’ striker to sweep home.

Bude will hope to continue their upturn in fortunes when they make the long trip West to Wendron United on Saturday.
