LAUNCESTON Seconds cruised past their relegated Holsworthy counterparts at Stanhope Park in Division Five East.

South Petherwin Seconds’ promotion hopes from Division Six are in their hands following an emphatic nine-wicket win at St Austell Fourths, and their Tintagel counterparts doing them a favour against St Stephen Seconds.

Emma Barnes (4-11) and Kevin Horrell (5-15) shared nine as the hosts were dismissed for 81, a total Trevor Dingle (41no) and James Cawsey (20no) knocked off with ease.

Tintagel were in trouble at 129-7 despite Simon Harrison’s 39, however 46 from number nine Kane Hartland helped the Knights reach 201 all out.

The home attack then gave little away including Simon Fry’s 1-12 off 10 overs, before Freddie Knowles (2-28) and Ben Lane (2-8) took two apiece in St Stephen’s 130-8.
