Bond Timber Cornwall Cricket League Division Four, Five, Six and Seven East round-up – Saturday, May 17
WERRINGTON Thirds kept up their unbeaten start in Division Four by edging past St Stephen by 10 runs at Ladycross on Saturday.
Hugh Tomkinson (34), Lee Houghton (20) and Paul Miller (48) provided the platform for Billy Uglow (43no off 29) to help them reach 230-6 from their 40 overs.
On a fine wicket the visitors had a chance but were restricted to 220-9.
Uglow (1-35) and Darren Webber (1-24) were tough to get away while skipper Ian Worsnip (3-30) chipped in late on.
In Division Five East, Gunnislake’s bowlers bailed out their batsmen as they won by 30 runs at Pencarrow having been dismissed for just 108.
Graham Murray (3-21) and Dinesh Thirupuvanarajah (1-17) did much of the early work before James Boundy (3-8 off 7) and Lee Roberts (3-27) ran through the lower order despite Tristan Jago’s 42.
Launceston Seconds picked up eight points despite being well beaten at promotion favourites Gorran.
Skipper Josh Theobald (4-47) and Martin Vanstone (3-64) shared seven wickets in the home side’s 252-9 before Phil Spry (42) and Vanstone (45no) helped them reach 173-6.

Budge (37), Ian Roberts (32), Michael Clements (37), Dave Uglow (39no) and Clements (26) all contributed in a competitive 198-5 at Kennards House.
Pick of the bowlers was Emma Barnes (1-23) who went for less than three an over, while James Cawsey (2-52) and Richard Watson (2-50) were steady.
Despite slipping to 41-3, the home side were in command with Watson (58) and Adrian Martin (30) going well, but once they departed they failed to kick on as they closed on 191-7. Budge took 4-43.
Werrington Fourths visited their St Austell counterparts and came up against an exceptional performance from Al George.
George has dropped down from the seconds to play with his son, but his 6-31 off 10 overs kept Werrington in check as they amassed 186-7 thanks to half centuries from Ian Wills (63) and Matt Chatfield (70).
George then opened the batting and struck 17 fours in his 112 not out as the Saints won by eight wickets.
Bude Seconds lost for the first time as Roche Thirds eased to an eight-wicket success at Crooklets.
