BUDE have named a relatively strong side for tomorrow’s crunch clash with Wiveliscombe in Somerset (2.30pm).

The Seasiders head to the villagers, who are based near Taunton, in a game with huge ramifications in the race to avoid the drop in Counties One Western West.

With two teams likely to go down and seven games remaining for all 12 clubs, bottom side Falmouth are eight points from safety, while four points separate third from last Bude and Wivvy.

While Bude have the four-point cushion at present, that lead could be wiped out if they taste defeat at a Wiveliscombe side that shocked leaders Plymstock Albion Oaks 32-28 in their last home game.

Both sides will also know that with Bideford and Falmouth being away at top half sides St Ives and Kingsbridge respectively, the winners are likely to have the perfect afternoon.

Bude are without the starting second rows for their last game, a narrow 27-26 victory over Falmouth, as Nick Waterson is injured and Will Kingdon is unavailable.

In come Mike Currie and youngster Harvey Cholwill, the latter of whom will play at flanker with Will Hockridge partnering Currie.

Fly-half Harry Dymond has recovered from a heavy knock which forced him off against Falmouth and starts, while Pat Marks comes in on the wing for Rory Hodges.

The influential Ryan Butler is available again and starts on the bench alongside front-rower Martin George and winger Jack Horwell.

BUDE at Wiveliscombe: Brad Thomas, Patrick Marks, Olly Denford, Will Pharo, Zerran Hammond, Harry Dymond, Charlie Watton; Fraser Martyn, Rory Mead, Chris Allin, Mike Currie, Will Hockridge, Harvey Cholwill, Freddie Saxton (capt), Ben Hancock. Replacements: Martin George, Ryan Butler, Jack Horwell.

Other fixtures: Kingsbridge v Falmouth, Paignton v Penryn, Pirates Amateurs v Tiverton, Plymstock Albion Oaks v Tavistock, St Ives v Bideford.
