President’s Day — Saturday, July 20
THE most prestigious day in the season, President’s Day, was held on Saturday in beautiful sunny weather.
President Brian Wonnacott welcomed members and friends to his special day which began with a spider which was won by Cynthia May.
Eighteen ends of bowls followed with the president’s team playing the vice-president Tricia Dixon’s team with a win on all but one rink for the president.
After a delightful tea organised by Tricia and Cynthia, president Brian announced that £85 had been raised on the day which would go towards the President’s charity which this year is for the Cornwall Air Ambulance.
Vice-president Tricia presented president Brian with the trophy and he took the opportunity to thank everyone who had contributed to the smooth running of the event.
Sue Plumstead, who was president last year, thanked Brian on behalf of everyone for a very enjoyable afternoon.
