Closing Day — Saturday, September 22

THE hot sunny weather enjoyed during the season wasn’t in evidence for the closing day of the season.

It was a thoroughly unpleasant afternoon as far as the weather was concerned and there was no play as it rained all afternoon but members enjoyed the chance to have a final get-together and there was a lot of talk and laughter.

There was also a very enjoyable bring and share tea and a raffle. The club charity this year was the First Responders and their representative, Ruth Snell, was presented with a cheque for £301 by president Sue Plumstead on behalf of the club. President Sue thanked everyone for the support they had given her and congratulated all those who had had successes on the green during the season.

She said that she missed Colin Gardiner who was unable to be there and she wished him well and hoped to see him back on the green again next season. She concluded by wishing everyone a good winter.
