PLENTY of laughs have helped raise funds for the Devon Federation of Young Farmers.

Holsworthy Vintage Club and Clawton YFC earlier this year organised a comedy afternoon with comedian Jack Glanville a former young farmer. A great attendance enjoyed a cream tea, entertainment from the Tarka Commercial Dance Team, who later went to win the national finals, and a sketch from Clawton's recent pantomime.

This was followed by a raffle with prizes donated by many companies in the area. The event raised money towards the Devon Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs, which has secured a new premises in Cheriton Bishop, centrally located for all clubs throughout the county.

The aim of the new premises and rural hub is to have a central point for the main YFC office to be located and to hold meetings, competitions and training events and has office facilities and meeting rooms to hire.
