A YELLOW weather warning has been issued by the Met Office of snow and ice for most of the UK.

The warning predicts ice and showers from 4pm today (Friday, January 22) to 10.30am tomorrow and again from 3am to 6pm on Sunday.

Snow and ice may cause travel disruption tonight and early Saturday.

What to expect:

• Possibly some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths, increasing the likelihood of accidents and injuries.

• Some roads and railways likely to be affected by snowfall, with longer journey times by car as well as bus and train services.
