TWENTY-two pupils from Class 1 at Bridgerule C of E (VC) Primary School, along with their class teacher and teaching assistants, embarked on a Woodland Exploration Day, at RHS Rosemoor on Monday, March 13.

Joining the pupils were class teacher Mrs Joyce Pankhurst and teaching assistants Mrs Amanda Linney and Mr Mark Crocker.

Led by RHS staff member, Richard, the pupils learned about which invertebrates may be found in a woodland environment, including woodlice, beetles, slugs and snails, spiders and centipedes.

A delighted Kalem Gliddon even discovered a rather sleepy, hibernating toad!

Everyone agreed that it was a wonderful learning experience on a glorious March day with active signs of Spring all around like the budding Magnolia, blossoming trees and an abundance of daffodils and crocus.
