THE children of Acorns pre-school, in Whitstone, have been busy looking at different forms of transport during their ‘Transport Week’.

With farming transport being a keen interest with a lot of the children, and living in a local farming community, it soon turned into a week of farming activities.

They were very lucky to recently receive a kind donation of some tractors from Hambley’s of Whitstone, Robert Cole and Andrew Symons.

The pre-school then decided to see if they could get a couple of these old tractors repaired.

They contacted Smallridge Bros Ltd, of Holsworthy, who agreed they could be fixed. Thinking about this further they thought it would be a nice idea if the children could take their broken tractor in to be fixed.

So with very excited children, they arranged a day to have the tractor repaired while the children watched.

They had fun being shown around and the children were able to tell Jo Rowe, of Smallridge Bros Ltd, all the names of the machinery they could see.

The school extended their thanks to Jo Rowe who organised everything and showed them around.

All the children had a really good afternoon looking at the farm machinery and watching their own tractor getting its new pedals and steering.
