AN OPEN day was held at Bridgerule Village Hall to 'show off' its recent refurbishment.

The Post reported (August 28) that the changes included a new meeting room and new toilets, including a disabled toilet.

Visitors to the hall on the open day were able to try some of the activities that take place at the hall, including Zumba and table tennis.

Rose Hitchings, who is on the village hall committee, said: "We were showing off the new meeting room and new kitchen.

"We have moved the gents' toilets and knocked it all through and made a meeting room small and easy to heat for winter meetings."

The hall and the new meeting room are available to rent and more information is available by contacting Sheila Cholwill, treasurer of Bridgerule Village Hall Ltd, on 01288 381350.

Further work will take place next year and Chris, also on the village hall committee, said the hall now needs a storage area.
