DISCUSSIONS surrounding the future of Holsworthy Hospital are continuing with concerned members and the chair of the Northern Clinical Commissioning Group. Holsworthy mayor John Allen and district and county councillor Barry Parsons met Dr John Womersley, the chair of the Northern Locality of Northern Eastern and Western Clinical Commissioning Group (NEW Devon CCG), at a meeting in Holsworthy last Thursday. Also in attendance was a working group comprising local GPs, representatives of town and parish councils and a representative of the North Devon Hospice. The discussion followed a series of meetings the group has held with the CCG. Previously, the group was dissatisfied with the lack of consultation regarding the 'Care Closer to Home' project and the uncertainty over the future of Holsworthy Hospital.
