THREE residents of Burdon Grange Care Home, Highampton, — Angie Broad, Rebecca Hobbs and Hannah Lavell — took part in the power wheelchair event at Marjon, University of St Mark and St John in Plymouth, recently.

The three women, who all live with cerebral palsy, have been practising hard at the activity hall at the care home. They took up the sport last year after attending a similar event in Exeter and have also been training with the Exeter squad.

The Plymouth team has since been set up by Helen Phelps-Starbuck, who is the secretary for Ocean City PFC. Helen is also a current Premiership division player with five years' playing experience. She started playing competitively for Celtic Storm in 2009, based in Truro, and transferred to Aspire, based in Watford, two seasons ago.
